19th century apothecary cabinet with original glass front and a vertical lift door mechanism. Once used to house laboratory scales, the proportions and build are unmistakably Victorian. The glass panel lifts smoothly and the interior has that dry, time softened look that only real age gives. The cabinet is made from a warm toned hardwood with its original maker’s plate intact, adding to its provenance and appeal.

These were specialist pieces made for chemists and laboratories, not general household furniture, which makes surviving examples harder to find. Perfect for displaying curiosities, small antiques or as a standalone decorative object with real history.
