A charming late 19th to early 20th century school writing slate, set within a simple wooden frame. These small slates were traditionally used by children for writing and arithmetic before paper exercise books became commonplace.
The frame has lovely wear from age and handling, with the slate retaining old surface marks from use. Now strung for hanging.

A charming pair of decorative partridges with beautifully detailed feathering and wonderfully different poses, one standing and one feeding.
Finished in a softly aged silver tone with areas of natural patination, particularly around the feet. No silver or silver-plate markings are visible, so they are described as silver-tone metal.

A wonderfully characterful old wooden decorator’s ladder, with five broad steps and a tall, slender frame. The timber has developed a beautiful worn surface from years of use, with old paint marks, knocks and variations in colour throughout.

A wonderful old wooden cabinet letter file retaining its original internal paper label reading “Amberg’s Patent Cabinet Letter File.”
The front features a brass-framed “Private” label, while inside is the original wire filing mechanism and brass instruction plate reading “Amberg’s Patent – To Empty File Raise This Slide.”
Beautifully worn from years of use, with scratches, marks and variations in the timber throughout. A particularly characterful piece of old office storage, now perfect for keeping letters and papers or simply displayed as an interesting decorative object.

A large decorative ceramic water jug with a softly scalloped rim, ornate handle and pretty pink floral decoration with touches of gilt.
The creamy white glaze has plenty of age-related wear, with rubbing to the gilt and decoration giving it a beautifully timeworn character. Its generous scale makes it a lovely statement piece filled with flowers or simply displayed on a dresser or table.

Presented in an aged painted wooden frame, with plenty of wear and patina adding to its character. The reverse retains a fragment of an old picture framer and gilder's trade label.

A beautifully aged cast iron urn with a fluted body, wide decorative rim and stepped square base.
The surface has developed a wonderful naturally weathered finish, with layers of rust and subtle traces of old colour giving it masses of character. A substantial decorative piece that looks just as good left empty as it does filled with seasonal flowers or foliage.
Wear, oxidation and surface weathering throughout are part of its character.
