A charming late 19th to early 20th century school writing slate, set within a simple wooden frame. These small slates were traditionally used by children for writing and arithmetic before paper exercise books became commonplace.
The frame has lovely wear from age and handling, with the slate retaining old surface marks from use. Now strung for hanging.

A charming pair of decorative partridges with beautifully detailed feathering and wonderfully different poses, one standing and one feeding.
Finished in a softly aged silver tone with areas of natural patination, particularly around the feet. No silver or silver-plate markings are visible, so they are described as silver-tone metal.

The front features a brass-framed “Private” label, while inside is the original wire filing mechanism and brass instruction plate reading “Amberg’s Patent – To Empty File Raise This Slide.”
Beautifully worn from years of use, with scratches, marks and variations in the timber throughout. A particularly characterful piece of old office storage, now perfect for keeping letters and papers or simply displayed as an interesting decorative object.
