A hand-formed earthenware vessel with two elongated handles and a dark, smoke-blackened surface. The uneven texture, worn edges and traces of old pigment give it an authentic, time-worn presence. Areas of loss around the handles and base add to its primitive character. A bold, sculptural piece with a raw, earthy feel.

  • A Victorian gypsy or fortune teller’s table with a circular faux leather top, finished with mustard passementerie fringe. Raised on three finely turned mahogany legs united by ring-turned stretchers and a central finial, this piece has strong decorative presence and great proportions. Ideal as a side table, lamp table or statement accent in a layered interior.

19th century apothecary cabinet with original glass front and a vertical lift door mechanism. Once used to house laboratory scales, the proportions and build are unmistakably Victorian. The glass panel lifts smoothly and the interior has that dry, time softened look that only real age gives. The cabinet is made from a warm toned hardwood with its original maker’s plate intact, adding to its provenance and appeal.

These were specialist pieces made for chemists and laboratories, not general household furniture, which makes surviving examples harder to find. Perfect for displaying curiosities, small antiques or as a standalone decorative object with real history.

Lovely as decorative objects in a bowl or lined on a shelf, and a nice example of traditional indoor bowling pieces from the period.
  • A delicate 9ct gold ring set with a rich deep-red garnet in a heart cut, framed by fine bead detailing and openwork shoulders. The pierced band gives it that unmistakable late-Victorian to early Edwardian romantic feel. Sweet without being twee, and very wearable.

Garnet was a hugely popular stone in the Victorian era, symbolising love, devotion and protection, which makes this piece especially fitting as a sentimental gift or keepsake ring.

Presented in a heart-shaped ring box, perfect for gifting.
